Another University Student Killed in Kampala Road Accident

Another university student has been killed in a Kampala road accident. The deceased was a Makerere University medical student who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Kampala.

The deceased has been identified as Michael Musisi, a first-year medical student at Makerere University.

The accident happened on Thursday. Musisi was struck by a motorcycle in Kampala.

News of his passing initially spread on social media, with friends calling on his family to check for his body at the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) mortuary.

The university has since gotten in touch with the family of Musisi, who was registration number 25/U/30482/PS, in Buyamba, Kooki of Rakai District.

Road accidents

According to the 2025 Police Annual Crime Report, 322,441 traffic cases were recorded in 2025, compared to 426,432 in 2024, marking a 24.4 per cent decrease.

The Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety also registered 26,044 road crashes in 2025, with  4,602 of these being fatal, 13,563 serious, and 7,879 minor.

Despite the drop in overall traffic cases, road accidents increased by 3.7 per cent in 2025 compared to 2024. Serious crashes rose by 3.3 per cent, from 13,134 in 2024 to 13,563 in 2025. Fatal crashes increased by 3.8 percent, from 4,434 to 4,602, while minor crashes went up by 4.5 per cent, from 7,539 in 2024 to 7,879 in 2025.

Recently, two university students perished in separate accidents in Kampala, as reported Here.

Days ago, 11 people were killed in a bus accident on Masaka Road, while an LCV chairman perished in another accident. (See Details Here, There and Over There.
