Anita Among Properties and Tax Records: URA Boss Summoned to State House – Reports

As investigation into outgoing speaker Anita Among properties and tax records continues, the URA boss has reportedly been summoned to State House, emerging reports indicate.

It is said that Anita Among’s tax records are of interest to President Yoweri Museveni who is reportedly keen on getting to the bottom of the matter regarding wealth accumulation and corruption in parliament involving the speaker, Anita Among, deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa and top officials at parliament.

The URA boss, sources further indicated, had been asked to take with him all tax records for Anita Among. Another source told us that all commissioners who have served in the 11^th parliament are also under investigation, and that the president had asked for their tax records as well.

While the corruption allegations levelled against the commissioners of parliament easily ebbed away from public debate, the president has reportedly been interested in the issue, with investigations by intelligence officers happening.

Particularly, sources further told us, the president was irked by what appeared like glorification of corruption by some top parliamentary officers and some MPs who seemed to tell the public that they were untouchable, with one of the leaders praising an embattled commissioner as one who stole and ate with her voters. The URA boss has also been directed by the Commander in Chief of the armed forces himself to go for the State House meeting with the documents showing how Anita Among’s properties were cleared by the tax body after she imported them into the country. Her fleet is particularly of interest, according to sources.

The URA boss is also expected to present a report on properties imported by commissioners of parliament who have previously been accused of corruption.

The meeting between the URA boss and Museveni was expected to happen this Saturday, May 16, 2026.

President Museveni has previously demanded answers on Anita Among’s wealth and its source. At one occasion, Anita Among explained how she was an entrepreneur with a string of businesses that earn her money. On another occasion, Museveni demanded answers on Anita Among’s house in London UK. The president is expected to remain busy this weekend as the nation awaits his decision on the choice for the speaker of the 12^th parliament.

There are already hints on the names he could choose from: defence minister Jacob Oboth Oboth and Anita Among.
