World Monologue Games Celebrates Thrilling Fourth Season Featuring Ugandan Actor , Fatuma Balinda

The global spotlight is once again on the world of acting as World Monologue Games, the largest and most prestigious event of its kind, makes its triumphant return for a highly anticipated fourth season.

Among the exceptional talent chosen to partake in this year’s Regional Finals is Fatuma Balinda, a gifted local actor from Kampala. This international showcase gathers the crème de la crème of performers from over 100 countries.

Undeterred by the disruptions that have rocked the industry, Fatuma submitted an entry to World Monologue Games, often hailed by the media as the Olympics for Actors. In a spirited competition spanning six distinct categories, thousands of international performers strive to secure their place on the podium.

Fatuma”s excitement upon being selected for the esteemed event’s Regional Finals is palpable. “Participating in this year’s World Monologue Games fills me with incredible excitement,” says Fatuma. “Coming from Uganda, I’m joining a league of remarkable performers from around the world. The anticipation for my upcoming performance is electric.” Fatuma added, “I wish to encourage all Ugandan actors who wish to take their acting career to an international level to embrace this platform, these games take place once every year. Initiated in 2020 by the visionary Australian producer Pete Malicki, World Monologue Games continues to grow from strength to strength. Looking ahead to this fourth season, Malicki says, “The calibre of submissions has soared, with judges noting a marked rise in quality. I’m eagerly awaiting the showcase of talents that the finest actors from numerous countries will bring to this year’s Games.”

Fatuma will be performing a captivating monologue entitled, “Helene in Ghosts”, a monologue by Henrik Ibsen. In this monologue, Helene reveals the truth to the Pastor about the horrible things that her husband did to her.” Reflecting on the experience, Fatuma added, “Helene is a great character who portrays some of the challenges that women and mothers who are married to irresponsible men painfully endure while keeping silent and struggling to raise their children.” The Regional Finals will be broadcast via livestream throughout October 2023.
