Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has given an update on Janet Museveni’s health condition. A senior army officer says Museveni told them about the current health condition of his wife, first lady and education minister Janet Museveni.
In recent days, there have been unverified reports on social media that Janet Museveni was sick, with some even alleging that she had been admitted at Mbuya Hospital. But no official government communication has addressed the issue of the first lady’s health condition.
That void was filled by more speculation on social media, with some claiming that the presidential jet had been spotted in Georgia in the US. Some linked the presence of the Ugandan presidential jet in the US to the health condition of the Ugandan minister.
But some government officials came out and said that the presidential jet was in the US for routine maintenance checks, punching holes into speculative reports that it had flown the minister for treatment.
Now, senior military officer and senior advisor to Museveni Lt Gen Proscovia Nalweyiso has come out to reveal that Museveni has told them that Janet Museveni was recovering well
“My brother President Museveni told us that Maama Janet Museveni was sick but that her condition has improved,” Lt Gen Nalweyiso told Youtuber Ruth Kalibala Bwanika.
“Let us keep praying for her.”
Lt Gen Nalweyiso made it clear that Janet Museveni was not dead.
“They have been saying that Maama is dead but Maama is alive,” she emphasized.
