Schools in Ugandan cities and municipalities normally perform better than those in rural areas. In this cities’ best schools list, The Pearl Times brings you top 100 performing PLE 2025 schools in cities and the capital Kampala.
The basis for the rankings of top city schools in PLE 2025 is the number of first grades as a percentage of the entire class. Schools with 100 per cent first grades rank atop others.
The lower the rate (the percentage), the lower the ranking; and the higher the percentage, the higher the ranking.
The Pearl Times Analysis desk previously used the aggregate score to rank the best schools in the cities. (See previous reporting Here and There).
Besides the capital Kampala, we are looking at the best performing schools in the capital Kampala, and the cities of Mbarara, Jinja, Gulu, Lira, Fort Portal, Mbale, Hoima, Soroti, and Arua.
