At least two people are feared dead in a Mityana bus accident involving Makindye school pupils.
The pupils were returning from a trip when a bus they were in overturned, according to reports on Sunday, 03 August 2025.
The learners were said to be from Daystar Junior School in the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) division of Makindye.
The pupils were aboard an HMK passenger Bus which overturned in the town of Zigoti on Sunday, reports further indicated.
It is said that the pupils in the bus, registration number UAP 829U, were returning from a school trip in Kasese.
Reports further indicated that the HMK passenger bus overturned after its driver lost control on a slope.
Several pupils were feared dead in the accident. These were reportedly rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment.
Accidents have raised road safety concerns in Uganda, with activists calling for more to be done so as to reduce on the loss of lives and injuries associated with crashes.
